Pray for the love which allows you to see the good in your companion. Pray for the love that makes weaknesses and mistakes seem small. Pray for the love to make your companion’s joy your own. Pray for the love to want to lessen the load and soften the sorrows of your companion. (President Henry B. Eyring, "Our Perfect Example," October 2009)

Shakespeare or Cervantes?
In my book, Shakespeare wins by at least a length or two.
In my book, Shakespeare wins by at least a length or two.
- Shakespeare's genius feels universal. Cervantes, on the other hand, is persistently and intentionally Spanish.
- Don Quijote is an undisputed work of genius but even the sprawling world of that novel feels small compared to the worlds and minds that Shakespeare imagines.
- Cervantes keeps things close by working in prose, poetry, and drama. But, as the video suggests, there's no escaping Shakespeare.

Ten birthdays
Paige was feeling quite sentimental last night. I had gathered these birthday pictures and thought I would share them here.

Arthur C Brooks
“We in this country are facing a lack of visionary servant leadership. Any leader you can think of will say they are fighting for people, and this is a necessary but insufficient condition for being a leader, to fight for people that need you. But what we really need for real vision is level two and level three servant leadership. What’s level two servant leadership? It’s fighting for people that need you that you don’t need. Level three servant leadership is fighting for people who don’t like you. This is the problem, where we split into tribes where leaders only lead their followers.” Arthur Brooks, February 18, 2016, TED 2016, Vancouver, British Columbia
